The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL12 has been designed for the use specifically with the externally wastegated Owen Developments GBT-5465-HTA Turbocharger as used and developed on our Forge Motorsport Mk1 Golf Demo Race car.

The application also fits but is not limited to Garrett GT2254R, GT2560R, GT2871R, GT286ORS, GTX25/28, and TD04 14T, T25G, VF34, VF35, IGI VQ22 turbochargers. The turbo blanket also fits some internally gated turbochargers and is not limited to the above application list.

This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger insulating the hot side of the turbo’s compressor housing ensuring the cold side works to optimum efficiency. This design has been created to work in the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 2500 °F or 1370°C of radiant heat which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components. Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power.

Please note that a turbo blanket will lose its flexibility over the first few heat cycles as the material cures, so once fitted it should not be routinely removed as this can cause damage to the blanket.
